It is the national bird of Nepal, where it is known as the “Danfe” in Nepali. The daphne is also called lophophorous . They are found in the high elevation of the Himalayan range excessive altitudes of Nepal between 2400 and 4500 meters,. When they dance they stretch their wings and feathers showing their glorious colors. It is one of the most stunning birds also called Himalayan Monal. It is beautiful in the sense that it has a metallic colorization combination of green, purple, red and green. It is especially large about 70 cm long and gives 4 to 6 eggs at a time after 27 days of conception.
Danfe is an endangered species due to its poaching. So, Nepal has declared it as the national bird to guard it against being disappeared from the earth. No one is allowed to hunt this species in Nepal.

The cow is worship every year in Tihar in Laxmi puja. It is considered one of the biggest festivals in Nepal. As the cow has been declared as a national animal, killing cows internal the country has been banned. If each person is found doing such activities, he/she will be punished by the present constitution of Nepal.
